We returned to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore this year, this time with the Burgi in tow. I thought that the weather, seeing the peregrine falcon pair and the magestic scenery was great last year.
This year was 100 times better. The weather was HOT. Lake Superior was warm enough to swim in.
We found a great spot to set up camp in the Lower Hurricane campground.

So - being the procrastinator that we am - I called last week to reserve 4 sea kayaks for the Pictured Rocks trip only to discover that you need to be certified in sea kayaking before you can rent one. None of us are certified. And since it's only a weekend trip, we don't have time to get certified AND take the day trip to the bluffs. I am SUPER bummed. I understand why you need some training. Michigan's Best Kayaking

We are heading north next weekend to camp and hopefully kayak along the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. I Googled "pictured rocks kayaking" and I found this page, which lists the top sea kayaking spots in Michigan.
