The greatest places to hike?

I have a big but yet younger aged family. I like finding places to take them hiking. By far our favorite place to hike is the 7 Island Trail at the Ludington State Park. Where are your favorite hiking spots?

I have to agree that is a favorite. When a friend and I are training for the Lakestride we run from her house to the middle of the big bridge at the north end of the lagoon by the Beachwood Campground. Then turn around and head down M-116 for town. So pretty.

What weekend will the Lakestride be this year? I am doing this plan of couch potato to running a 5K in less than 6 months :) I figure if I don't quite make it that I could at least do the fun run but I am aiming to be able to complete my first 5K :)

A lap or two around Cartier Park is always nice. Fun to do with the little ones on bikes while you rollerblade.

My favorite as a kid was the stariway trail in the stat park. Our parents loved it because when we got into the middle at the sand dune we would run/fall down it and after a couple of times we had alot less energy.
