If you like the hike and be outdoors, check out letterboxing.org. It's added fun to the beautiful walks in the statepark here in Ludington. Letterboxing happens all over North America though, so it's added fun when you travel too! :) It really opened me up to the trails back in the State Park, before letterboxing, I'd never walked them. Check it out!

I had checked into this letterboxing some last year, but never did it. Seeing this on this site reminded me. Thanks! I think my boys will love it!

I just went to the site and there are 13 listing in Mason Co., Michigan....

Kind of cool, looks like fun for sure.

Another Letterboxing site. There is a search feature also for other areas.

Hey all...I have done all of the ones at the state park and my fam and I have even ventured into Ocean and Manistee Co. for some day trips to do letterboxing. Great fun, the kids feel like they are in National Treasure (movie) and we all get some exercise....just be sure to be discreet when finding the boxes so others don't "happen" upon them. Happy Letterboxing!!

Go to the letterboxing site. Basically, it is like a treasure hunt sort of. When you get to the site, it will give you directions and how to find the hidden box. Then when you find it you leave a note and put it back for the next person to find it. Great for kids and fun to learn the area too.
I put up a link above and also www.letterboxing.org has 13 for Mason County area.

I have just recently started letterboxing and have been out to the state park and also bryant woods. It is a great way for my daughter and I to spend some time enjoying the outdoors. If you like letterboxing, check out geocaching. It's very similar but you do need a gps to located the caches.

YAY letterboxing- so i have recently moved to EL for MSU and I am soon to go out letterboxing here. That's the great thing about it- when you go for a trip- even to the mall in muskegon, go out for a letterbox somewhere in the beautiful nature of Michigan! or the USA! ...yay!
