Hi just a quick update for friends and classmates of Clint Loney. He will be having surgery on his neck where it was broken from the accident in March. It will be the 14th of May and will last about 6 hours!! Hopefully he will be able to get comfortable and remove the huge brace he is wearing after this! It is going to take some healing time but it is really needed. The broken bones aren't healing properly.... Thanks for all the prayers that continue to get prayed for Clint and his family.

As usual I am up at 6:30; I gather my computer, my phone connector and list of pictures I want to send. (I found it easier if I select the pictures I want to send the night before.) The sun is shining brightly, it is a little cool out but who cares. Today is my day off. I have a very busy day planned. I got a call from Christy around 7:30 am, it was evening in Australia. Good to visit with her until I lost my signal.

The sky is cloudy; we had a storm in the night. It blew in and was over within 30 min. It would remain cloudy all day until about 5pm when the sun came out. It would stay out until sunset. It was cool but not cold.
Let me get this out of the way, I really botched my visit with Jack Ebling on the radio tonight. Sorry Jack, my fellow keepers were misbehaving and threw me off my mark. You and I both know I can do better. I am very sorry.

It is cloudy this morning; we are to have rain on and off. Once again the weather man was wrong. I am surprised that the sun is shining this morning. Ken went outside to “burn one” at 6:30A , came in then went back out 30 minutes later to “burn one” and said the wind picked up and the temperature dropped significantly. Lighthouse, Thurs. May 1, 2008
Today is opening day. The sun is shining, it is the warmest morning we have had so far. The wind is out of the east so we did not have any crashing waves to listen to. It is always very soothing to hear the wave’s crash on to the shore.
We had an eagle eating something on the beach along with a few crows. I got my camera but took as many pictures as I could. None really turned out. Why should they I was taking them from the kitchen window and 2 panes if glass.

Very chilly this morning, but sunny, missed another sunrise. I was up but just too lazy to go out in the cold. Sandy had been up since 4 AM and drank some high test coffee and was wondering when we were going to go to the State Park house and unload my car. I told her I had to finish sending my blog first. Wow! Was it cold this morning! The holding pond that developed on the beach from the wind and waves was frozen over with ice. I thought I should just take a picture from the kitchen window but decided that better pictures were to be taken if I bundled up and went out and got close ups. I thought I'd post a note on all the great things happening at OJ DeJonge JR High here in Ludington... soon to be OJ Middle School. Tomorrow.... Friday, we are having a MEAP celebration. We are serving free pizza to the students and have some activities planned in honor of their test results. Once again they did very well and we are so proud of them.

I was up early very excited that I get to move into the lighthouse today. My plan was to leave the cabin about 1 PM. I started loading the car at 10 AM, not too excited am I? I took one last walk to the peninsula, the bloodroot flowers were destroyed in the storms. The trillium blossoms were still in bloom. OK like I said in my first post here, I haven't done this before and due to that little tidbit, I forgot I had done a post already. :) The big news though is that we were in town this week and found a house. Haha! I've never won tickets for anything before! If you don't know, Jacob's Pillow is a dance festival held on a beautiful farm out in the Berkshires of Massachussettes. In the farm's beginning it was a major stop on the Underground Railroad so there is tons of history up there. Every time I drive by the carferries on my way to PM Steamers, EVERY time, I look at the once beautiful SS Spartan and wonder "How can we allow such an important part of Ludington's history to collect rust in the harbor!?" Its bad enough that most of the other carferries were sold off for scrap, those ships could have made up a floating maritime museum sitting right on PM Lake! I’ve been thinking a lot about Samuel Taylor Coleridge and his “Rime of the Ancient Mariner” lately. It’s a great poem in seven parts that deals with a quest—a journey from the normal everyday life into the unknown. Our mission at the Chamber

After the birth of my last child I had a real wake up call. I didn't want my picture taken! I felt so gross looking at myself. I was 270 lbs at the birth of my daughter. A few months later I realized I was staying at about 236 lbs and not moving anymore. At the end of December (when she was 5 months old) I decided I was going to change my life.

Starting to get pumped a little. Rode 45 miles this morning with PH and MB. Was cold to start, but after that one Iceman a couple of years ago, nothing seems to cold really. After exercising nearly every day this winter it was time to ramp up for the race, so Dan, Cal and I went for a ride to the state park and back then out and around Duneview and back to Piney Ridge where we donned our Salomon trekking shoes and headed for the high dunes.
