www.ancestry.com is pretty good (makes it a bit difficult if you only have a free membership-can't view the full census information-but you can see previews and sometimes summaries).

The DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) chapter in West Michigan is the Michigan Dunes Chapter located in Pentwater. You can send an e-mail to the local chapter president at the following link:

I read something about a DAR group in Oceana County. I am not aware of MC having a chapter, but that doesn't mean there isn't one.
So many have no clue of DAR's existence or what DAR even stands for.

Any of you know of a genealogy group around here? I know that Oceana County has meetings monthly and I believe it is a DAR group? Maybe we should think about it for Mason County?
I know that there is the Genealogical Society from White Pine Village but I don't think they have meetings etc. for genealogical or just the WPV stuff?
